Whitby RFC left it late for the second week running, scoring in the 89th and 90th minutes to snatch the points from a strong Scalby team who will be kicking themselves to have come away with nothing.
Damon Craig looked to have opened the scoring in the first ten minutes but his deflected shot was adjudged not to have crossed the line before being clawed out by the Scalby stopper.
Then Rugby Club had keeper Sam Gale to thank on several occasions, with two quick double saves, twice thwarting one-on-ones.
Scalby were hitting club on the counter with the pace of quick striker Scales and Gale was at it again, acrobatically tipping over a header with his fingertips.
Rugby Club were piling the pressure on desperately in search of the winner. Usher twice and Phil Spencer missed good chances and the Scalby keeper saved from a Sam Richardson drive.
With time running out and what seemed to be a frustrating day for Rugby Club, Benn Sullivan turned well in the box and shot from 12 yards into the bottom corner with only two minutes left.
Scalby forced a corner in the dying seconds which was cleared and Jordan Purvis passed to Spencer, who raced forward and took it into the corner to eat away the remaining seconds.
But he superbly turned two Scalby players and raced into the area, pulling the ball back to Richardson to rifle home and seal the points.
Boss Steve Mothersdale said: “We left it late again and found the breakthrough in the final minutes, but we kept fighting to the end against a good Scalby team who deserved something.
“We have our man of the match Sam Gale to thank for pulling off a string of fine saves. Jordan Purvis had a good game in the middle too.”
