Chris Hardy’s Whitby Town side return to away action at Marine on Saturday looking to arrest their recent poor away form.
A win could see Hardy’s men move back into second place, currently occupied by FA Cup heroes Stourbridge.
A defeat, however, could see the Blues drop outside the play-off places.
Hardy is expected to have a clean bill of health for the trip to Merseyside.
The Seasiders have won just one of their last seven away games, losing five and drawing the other.
The Blues’ latest outing, against Skelmersdale United at the Turnbull Ground, saw them run out 1-0 winners courtesy of a David Carson goal.
The hosts, however, were emphatically beaten at play-off chasing Nantwich Town, 4-1, despite bringing in a raft of new recruits.
