Division Two promotion hopefuls First In Last Out were held to a 3-3 draw by Scarborough Campus on Tuesday night.
The point they claimed from the game moved Les Brown’s men up to third place in the table, above Cayton Corinthians on goal difference with two games in hand.
It looked like the depleted Whitby side were cruising to victory when a double from Phil Spencer and a Luke Storr effort sent them into the interval with a 3-0 lead.
The visitors fought back however, and Ben Robinson produced a man of the match display for the university outfit, netting all three of his team’s goals after the break, including one from the penalty spot to level things up.
It was the current Campus side’s last game together, and although the club is set to continue in the Sunday League next season, their team will be made up of a new group of players as the majority of the students in the current squad graduate and move on.
“I’m really proud of all the lads for getting a draw with FILO in our final match together, we performed very well,” player-boss Paul Hill said.
“We’ve loved playing in this league and will all really miss it.”
