Drew McCoubrey and Danny Glendinning both hit hat-tricks as Newlands eased to a 9-0 win at Tithe Bar in the NRCFA Sunday Challenge Cup second round.

Trafalgar progressed to the next round as they were handed their game as their scheduled hosts Longlands had folded.

Ayton Reserves suffered a 7-2 loss at Britannia with Zak Nicholls scoring both for the villagers.

Fylingdales powered to a 6-0 win at Heslerton in the Scarborough News Sunday League.

Mikey Kilpatrick opened the scoring for the visitors, who only had 11 players including manager John Cuffling playing in goal, with regular keepers Jamie Wassall and Paul Watson having to play outfield.

Wassall scored the second goal for Fylingdales after a smart turn on the edge of the area, then Kilpatrick made it 3-0 at half-time from the spot after a foul on Jake Faichney.

Watson netted the next two goals after the interval, a cheeky backheel from Harry Purves completing the scoring.

Kilpatrick and Watson shared the star man award for Fylingdales with Jack Boyd the man of the match for Heslerton.

Second division leaders Angel Athletic won 2-1 at home to Scarborough Campus thanks to a first-half Ali Caw double.

Josh Valancius replied for the students before half-time, with Tom Gavin the visitors' man of the match for a fine game in goal with Cal Gravestock and Ben Mason sharing the star man award for Angel, who missed a succession of chances against a much-improved Campus team.

Fylingdales Reserves striker Mark McCarthy scored a hat-trick in his side's 4-3 home win against Crown Tavern.

Taylor Humble opened the scoring for the hosts, but Steve Molloy replied for Tavern.

McCarthy chipped the keeper to put Dales back in front, only for Travis Wood to level with a shot into the bottom corner.

The hosts went 3-2 up when McCarthy struck again, Wood and David Barber then linking up well with the latter slotting home another leveller.

Five minutes from time man of the match McCarthy headed in the winning goal, Steve Chittenden the star man for Leroy Donaldson's Tavern team.
