Whitby-based club Sleights are leaving the Scarborough & District Saturday League.
The club, who had two teams in the League until last season, will leave Division One to join Division Two of the Ryedale Beckett League.
Club chairman Andrew Snaith said: "After six years in the Scarborough League, including three in the first division, our players and committee felt a different challenge was needed.
"We've consulted our lads, done our research, spoken to other clubs and decided to go in a different direction.
"We still want to play at a good level and be competitive and can't wait for the exciting new season ahead.
"I want to thank the Scarborough League for their help and support during our time there and wish to reassure people that all is very well with our club."
Sleights' secretary added: "After consulting with the players, the club thought that a new direction was needed and voted narrowly in favour to leave the Scarborough League.
"This is no slight on the Scarborough League, but as a young group keen to win trophies, we feel that the Beckett League will give us a far greater chance of that."
