PARK’s B team were up against title favourites Redcar with themselves still in with a good chance of the league.

The opening exchanges were even and Park managed to strike first with Horne’s perfectly weighted corner finding Hambley in the box who forced the ball home for a perfect start.

Redcar went straight up the other end to win a penalty, their influential midfielder took it and Tiplady pulled off a superb save but Redcar got to the rebound first and finished very well to equalise.

From then, it was Redcar who were playing the better football with Park looking to counter with the pace of Hambley and Owen Britton. Park’s midfield battled right through the game and Ethan Britton was superb at the heart of defence.

Redcar made their chances count though with a further two goals in the second half to win 3-1.

Park kept going right to the end though and were unlucky from a couple of corners and it was good to see the lads bounce back and win the friendly to finish on a high.
