Scarborough Athletic boss Kelly eyeing four or five "really strong" signings

Boro’s pre-season schedule continued with a 3-2 defeat at Brighouse on Saturday and Kelly is keen to add several “really strong” signings to his squad ahead of competitive action getting under way.

“We’re far from the finished article,” Kelly said.

“We used a few trialists in the first half and if I am being honest nobody really stood out for me.

“In the second half we went a lot stronger and I thought we dominated from there, but look, it’s pre-season and I’m not concerned at all.

“I am on the phone a lot and speaking to a lot of players, but the market has gone a bit crazy with some silly money being thrown about and we need to be clever in who we bring in as some players are deluded.

“I want to bring in four or maybe five really strong signings to help us compete for promotion this season, but it’s not easy at the moment.”
