Robinson double kills ‘Boro challenge

A DOUBLE from Paul Robinson put Goldsborough to the sword in Tuesday night’s Eskvale and Cleveland League game, despite a strong second half surge from the Lythe-based side.

Hollybush started off very well and took control of the game with Paul Robinson scoring for the second game in a row on 25 minutes after the Goldsbrough keeper ran out to clear but missed the ball to leave a open goal.

In the second half, Goldsborough seemed to have lifted their game and it seemed only a matter of time before they scored, which they did from close range in the 55th minute.

With Goldsborough now on top, it seemed like they would go on to win this game but a 25-yarder from Dan Stonehouse on the hour and a second from Robinson on 70 minutes sealed it for Hollybush.

Marc Harland in Goldsborough’s goal made some great saves throughout the game and the referee John Scott also had an excellent game.
