Point takes Lealholm to top of table

There was only one Eskvale and Cleveland League fixture last weekend which Hinderwell entertain Lealholm in a local derby.

Honours ended even as the home side came from behind twice to grab a draw. The point gained by Lealholm was enough to put them top of the table although title rivals Lingdale have two games in hand.

Nathan Gibson gave the visitors the lead before Chris Harland equalised for Hinderwell but Kyle Clacherty put Lealholm back in front before the interval. Early in the second half, Dan Stonehouse put the home side level again but they then had to withstand a lot of pressure and chances as Lealholm went looking for the victory.

Hinderwell held firm and took a valuable point.

This weekend sees Lakes United entertain Brotton Railway Arms with a place in the semi-final of the D & G Trophies League Challenge Cup at stake.

In league action, Dormanstown entertain Hinderwell while Lingdale travel to Great Ayton and Lealholm

host Boosbeck with the visitors looking for a victory that would certainly put them in the championship shake-up.
