Second division Goalsports had too much for Division Three outfit Fishburn Park Reserves despite the latter holding it to 0-0 at the interval.

The hosts thought they had won a penalty almost from the kick-off when Tyson Stubbings looked to have been brought down in the area but ref Stan Jackson decided against awarding a spot-kick.

There were very few chances in a keenly-contested first half but the hosts opened the scoring 10 minutes into the second half, Brad Parkin timing his run to perfection to head in a Stubbings cross.

Stubbings doubled their lead on 70 minutes with a neat finish after a pass from player-boss Mark Plumpton and the hosts' place in the final was confirmed when sub Harry Denness slotted in a third.

Left-winger Stubbings and left wing-back Niall Prentice were the star men for Goalsports and 16-year-old centre-back Jacob Rigden was the man of the match for Carl Oliver's team.

A freak goal 15 minutes from time decided the all-Division Three affair between Goldsborough United and Eastway Sports, the latter securing the win through a free-kick from Nathan Till on the halfway line.

Till's free-kick seemed harmless but the United keeper made a huge blunder and ball crept past him into the net.

Eastway keeper Jordan Wood was their man of the match as he made some superb saves to keep his side in the semi-final, while Stefan Moon and Jack James also shone, with Richard Davies the man of the match for the home side.
