Leaders slot back into groove with seven-goal rout

LEAGUE leaders Lingdale FC slotted straight back into the grove with a seven-goal haul against Goldsborough.

Lingdale opened the scoring when a through ball from Neil Calvert found Carl Duggen to score at the second attempt.

The visitors went two up when Goldsborough conceded a penalty and Ben Crooks netted from the spot.

Lingdale continued to press forward and Duggen collected his second on 20 miniutes with a tap-in and the impressive Calvert set up Shaun Howes on 40 minutes to calmly sweep the ball past the stranded keeper.

The free-scoring in the second half continued as Lingdale moved into a six-goal lead.

A poor clearance from a corner fell to Dass who riffled the ball goal bound on 50 minutes and this was followed by a Crooks tap-in.

Goldsborough restored some respectability when Turner beat the visiting keeper to the ball, turned well and shot into empty net.

Five minutes later, Richard Hegarty pulled back a second from a penalty.

With 15 minutes left in the game, Sam Calvert came on for Lingdale as sub and played in same side as his father Neil. Lingdale scored the final goal when Crooks completed his hat-trick.
