Whitby RFC went goal crazy at home to West Pier Reserves on Saturday, in a game which saw them move to the top of the second division.
Naming a unchanged team from the previous week, Club thought they had opened the scoring twice in the first five minutes but Marc Usher’s two efforts were ruled out.
Chris Wheatman was given the freedom of the final third and cooly lobbed over keeper Sam gale to open the scoring for the away team.
But Club drew level soon after when mikey kilpatrick headed in Jordan purvis cross at the near post.
Marc Usher put RFC in front with a header from a Sullivan cross and the scores remained 2-1 to the home side at half-time.
Paul Jobling coolly rounded the keeper for 3-1 straight after half-time before going on to score three more.
Mikey Kilpatrick added three more to make his tally four with Damon Craig getting one and captain Sam Richardson to complete a 12-1 rout.
Boss Ste Mothersdale said: “Scoring 12 was a massive boost as it’s done our goal difference no harm at all.
“We scored some great goals again and some good performances throughout.
“Mikey Kilpatrick takes man of the match for his perfect hat-trick before his fourth.
“It’s nice to see our name at the top of division two.
“Let’s hope that’s the case come nat but there is a lot more hard work to be done and big games.”
Rugby Club are in cup action this Saturday against Whitby Fishermen’s at Lythe community sports fields.
