Itis Itis Rovers claimed wins against Snainton on Friday and Fishburn Park Reserves on Saturday to wrap up the Scarborough Saturday League Division Two title.

Itis Itis secured the title thanks to the 4-0 victory in a keenly-contested game at Snainton on Friday evening.

A double from Callum Myers, along with goals from player-boss Mikey Barker and sub Ellis Wilson made sure of the points for the away side.

Less than 24 hours later Rovers worked hard again for a 2-1 home success against Fishburn Park.

Jordan Lee, who is usually the keeper for the champs, scored the opener for the home side with a 40-yard free-kick and doubled the lead from the penalty spot when he was fouled after the break.

Josh Welburn, the stand-in Rovers keeper, saved a penalty in the first half, but could not stop Park pulling a goal back in the 70th minute through a Billy Arnold tap-in after fine work from Andrew Young on the wing..

Welburn was named as man of the match by Barker, who was delighted with his side's success in the title race.

He said: "I am chuffed to bits with getting the title, and we are looking forward to life in the top flight now.

"The next target is the League Trophy on Thursday night, we were trying to keep free of injuries for that game over the weekend.

"Next season I hope that we can push our way into the top four in Division One, I think the top two of Pier and Edgehill are well clear but we can push our way in among the others."

Commercial claimed victories in both matches of their double-header against Cayton Corinthians.

A Ryan Somers penalty won it for Commercial in the first game, after Josh Dolan had been fouled, with Cauley Clarkson man of the match for Commercial and Dan Marstonj the man of the match for Cayton in goal.

The second game was won 3-1 by Commercial.

Makeshift striker Michael Hernandez set up Matthew Rowley to tap in at the far post in the first half.

In the second half, Hernandez scored from outside the box, then striker Steven Robinson (usually a keeper) was brought down in the area and he dusted himself down to fire in the penalty.

Tyler Hanlon notched for Cayton, with Shaun Rennison their star man at right-back. Luke Fardoe was the Commercial man of the match.

FC Rosette claimed a 4-1 home win against Falsgrave, with man of the match Jaroslaw Szezesny scoring for the visitors.

Goldsborough United earned a 3-1 home win against 10-man Sherburn.

The Sherburn goal was scored by teenager Harry Ward, the visitors also missing a penalty in a determined performance.
