After the success of a sell-out event with Brian Deane last year, An Afternoon with Ian Harte will see the former full-back discuss his career highlights, the highs and lows of his time at Leeds and tales of playing for the Irish national squad at Scholar’s Bar on Sunday June 9.

The event is being hosted by local Leeds United Supporters group The Scarborough Whites.

Harte rose through the ranks at Leeds, making his debut in 1996 and soon became an integral part of their team for nine seasons, often playing alongside his uncle, Gary Kelly.

He played a crucial role in Leeds' memorable UEFA Champions League campaign in the 2000-2001 season by chipping in with 11 goals including vital strikes against 1860 Munich, Anderlecht and Deportivo La Coruna, when the Elland Road club reached the semi-finals.

His left foot was renowned for its precision in delivering crosses and set-pieces, earning him a reputation as one of the best free-kick takers in the Premier League.

After leaving Leeds in 2004, Harte continued his career with various clubs, including Levante in Spain and winning promotion to the Premier League with Reading and Bournemouth.

He is now a football agent looking after the likes of former Leeds players Jack Clarke and Niall Huggins.

The event will be hosted by comedian Pete Emmett and a signed Georginio Rutter home shirt will be one of many great items up for grabs in the raffle.

Tickets can be purchased by contacting Mark Stanger on 07853026131, online via skiddle.com and in person from Scholar’s Bar.
