The returning Dale Hopson has been named Whitby Town captain for the 2018/19 campaign.
Hopson, who returns to the Turnbull Ground this season after a short stint with Blyth Spartans, will lead the side in the new campaign.
Boss Chris Hardy had handed the armband to Matty Tymon and Andy Monkhouse in pre-season, but Hopson led the side out in the Challenge Cup clash with Hull City on Thursday night, and the manager confirmed afterwards that he will keep it heading into the Evo-Stik Premier League season.
"We've made the decision on the captaincy, Dale will be the captain for the new season," Hardy said after the Blues beat Hull City on penalties to move into the final against Middlesbrough.
Hardy is also looking to strengthen his squad further before the start of the season.
He added: "There's plenty going on at the moment. We will be looking to bring in two or three before the season starts."
