Hinderwell pick up first point of season

HINDERWELL picked up their first point of the season after a great comeback - but only after surviving a late scare.

Carlin How started the game well and were the better side in the opening exchanges, but against the run of play Hinderwell scored through Dave Laverick

This gave Hinderwell some confidence and they started to have more of the ball but the game turned back in the home side’s favour in the last quarter of the half when Carlin How found the net three times.

With a 3-1 lead at half-time Carlin How felt they should have gone on to win the game, but Hinderwell showed they have fighting sprit in the side and came back strongly with goals from Tom Foster and Ross Kennedy.

In the final minutes, it looked like Hinderwell were going to denied their first point of the season when Carlin How were awarded a penalty, but the spot kick was fired against a post and the ball was cleared to leave both sides sharing the points.
