Whitby Town boss Chris Hardy is hoping Saturday’s ‘pay what you want’ initiative will lure a bumper crowd to the Turnbull Ground for their final game of the Evo-Stik Premier Division season against Buxton.
Town finish what has been a disappointing campaign for Hardy and his side at home to Buxton on Saturday, with fans able to decide how much they pay to get into the ground on the day.
Hardy said: “You’d hope people would take advantage of the pay what you want initiative and get down to support their team in the last game of the season.
“Have we done enough this season to entice people in, possibly not, but Whitby Town has always been the people’s club and it would be great to see the people of the town get behind us.
“I’ve always said that my best memories of my time at the club so far have been when we’ve had decent crowds in and the Turnbull has been rocking.
“That really spurs the lads on and they’ve always performed with backing from the terraces.”
