FISHBURN Park under 10s hosted Eastfield Sport Association at Eskdale School in their first league meeting this year.

Fishburn started with the advantage of a strong wind and made good inroads into the Eastfield area but could not finish the chances.

After the break, Eastfield used the bad weather to their advantage and kicked the ball over the top to get into Fishburn’s area with great defensive work by the solid pairing of Josh Noble and Kobe Gildroy, who stopped the attacks before keeper Kai Masons had to make a save.

Fishburn started to play smart with great passing between forwards Owen Britton, Shane Bannister and Adam Warrilow.

Bannister crossed to the back post and narrowly missed the incoming Warrilow who just knocked the ball wide.

The game ended with a 0-0 draw and man of the match was Josh Noble for his endless chasing and defending.

The teams played a friendly nine-a-side game after the main match with Fishburn having the wind advantage again and with quick feet from Owen Britton to slot it past the keeper to score Fishburn’s first.

Goals from Josh Linsley and Britton again gave Fishburn a 3-0 win.

Man of this match was Elliott Hewison.
