Fishburn Park progressed to the semi-final of the RT Raine Trophy despite a below-par performance on Saturday.
On a heavy pitch, Park found it hard to string their passes together in the early stages, but took the lead after 15 minutes as Luke Storr’s cross was knocked back across goal and Liam Beckett fired home. The remainder of the first half was even, with both sides missing several chances.
Fishburn improved in the second half of the cup tie and put the home side under pressure for long periods, but almost paid for missed chances when Ormesby broke and an inviting ball across the six-yard box just missed contact.
Fishburn rang the changes on 70 minutes and sub Dom Wilson increased their lead within minutes of taking the field, firing in a powerful shot the keeper got a hand to but was unable to prevent the ball crossing the line.
James Organ-Simpson rounded off the scoring in the final minute, rounding the keeper before slotting into the empty net.
