FILO’s promotion to Division One of the Scarborough & District Sunday League was confirmed at Wednesday night’s AGM.
They made the step up to the top flight alongside Ayton, Cayton and Roscoe’s Bar and will now face a derby encounter against Fylingdales.
FILO manager Les Brown said that his side are “looking forward” to the challenge of playing in the top flight.
“At the same time, we know that it’s a big step up from the second division, but we have some quality players and have also got a few new faces coming in,” he added.
“I just want us to get a feel for the division and give it our best.I have a lot of faith in my lads and I’m just hoping to be solid then keep pushing on in the future.
“We are still building as a club, but building well, so things are looking good for FILO.”
Fylingdales Reserves will be joined in Division Two by three new teams, though more could follow them into the set-up.
