CHRIS HARDY: New boy Bell settling in very well

Our latest signing Anthony Bell has really settled into our squad well over the last week.

He was really thrown in at the deep end, starting on the day he signed against a very good Middlesbrough side and handled himself really well.

Anthony fits the mould of the sort of player we like at the club.

He’s a young, athletic player with bags of ability on the ball. He’s technically very good and can play in a number of positions for us too.

I thought he played very well against Boro, put a shift in for us on Saturday at Nantwich and then had a solid game against Stafford on Tuesday.

Looking back on our semi-final win against Boro, the guys deserve huge credit for their performance and their efforts.

You can’t underestimate how much of an effort the players had to put in to beat a team full of professional players, who are training day in-day out with high-quality coaches and at the best facilities possible.

That win takes us through to the final against Pickering Town now. We played them pre-season and they were an aggressive, busy side.

I don’t know an awful lot about them, but I imagine if we turn up and play as I know we can then we’ll get the job done.

We’ve had a strong week and need to forget about the cup final now and concentrate fully on our push for a play-off position.

I’m sure all the lads will be 100% focused on that push
