We head into a very busy month that I believe will make or break our season
Purely because of the volume of games we play, March really will determine how we end our season.
We play seven league games and the big North Riding Senior Cup semi-final against Middlesbrough, and we need to take our opportunity to achieve something this season with both hands.
We know that we’re in touching distance, but we also know that we need to be doing better than we are at the moment.
If we don’t improve, both offensively and defensively, then this fantastic opportunity will pass us all by.
We fell out of the play-off places on Saturday, and we fell out for the right reasons because we’re not winning enough games of football at the moment.
Our hectic schedule starts at Mickleover on Saturday and then we’re straight into a huge home game against Spennymoor Town at the Turnbull on Tuesday night.
I travelled down to Scarborough on Monday night for the Sports Awards to represent the club alongside chairman Graham Manser.
The club was nominated for Top Playing Team, Shane Bland was up for Top Male Achiever, and I was nominated in the Coach of the Year category.
Shane managed to finish runner-up in his category, which shows just how far he’s come.
When I came in Shane was in a little bit of a poor run of form, we’ve put a lot of time into Shane.
Since I came here, he’s been absolutely fantastic. He’s a top, top goalkeeper and people who watch him week in, week out know just how good he is.
The nominations show just how far we’ve come as a club, it’s great recognition for everyone associated.
