CHRIS HARDY: Keen to get back into action at Coalville

After the best part of a month off due to the awful weather, let’s hope we can get back in action at Coalville Town on Saturday.

We not have had a game since the 1-0 loss at Witton Albion on February 24 because of the weather.

It is looking pretty good for our chances of a match tomorrow, and although we have kept the lads busy with training sessions on 3G and also a couple of 11-a-side practice matches, there is no substitute for proper match sharpness.

Coalville have maybe not had such a great season and are down near the wrong end of the league table, a bit like ourselves, but we have to give our all in every game for the rest of this campaign.

Although only six points separate Mickleover, who are 12th, from ourselves in 21st, we must not forget to be watchful of getting dragged back into the relegation scrap.

We need to finish the season on a high note and get a run going, we need to be more consistent.

We are without captain Steven Snaith (suspension) and Luke Bythway (knee injury) for Saturday’s match, but Callum Patton is back in contention, after having been unavailable due to work commitments for last weekend’s game - which was called off anyway so at least he did not miss out.

The four new signings that we have brought in will help us with a busy schedule coming up, a couple of young lads and two players with a bit more experience.

We have four matches in eight days over the Easter period so we will need plenty of cover, and I think we now have that.

We have a home game against Mickleover on Tuesday night so the games will be coming thick and fast for us now.

I always like to make sure we have the depth in the squad, and with the transfer cut-off point coming up this week it was good to sign up defender Paul Roddam, striker Dan Gathercole, who has been training with us for a few weeks now, and youngsters Jassem Sukar and Guilherme Baltazar Jr.

Roddam can play as a right-back, centre-back or central midfielder so his versatility will come in very handy in the final 10 games.
