‘Boro made to pay for missed chances

MISSED chances proved costly for Goldsborough as Lingdale - missing top scorer Crooks - made them pay.

Lingdale took the lead when Karl Duggen was fouled in the box by keeper Harland and Shaun Howes put the spot-kick away.

Goldsborough picked up the pace and when Marsay played in Bagnall - he rounded the keeper only to put the ball into the side-netting.

This was a let-off for Lingdale and Gary Sivills played a great ball to Ryan Scott to pick his spot through a crowded box to make it 2-0.

Goldsborough played the ball around well but Hitchen and Kazem were blocking the flanks with solid defending .

Lingdale started faster in the second half and when Bulmer played in Calvert, he made no mistake, beating Harland for 3-0.

Clarke and Purvis were working hard and if Rich Hegarty had finished the easy chances they could have been level. When Bagnall again missed a good chance Goldsbrough knew it wasn’t their day.

As Goldsborough continued to miss chances, they were further punished as sub Carl Flatters scored with his first touch and Howes netted after a controversial spot-kick for handball.
