Whitby Town have relieved Darren Williams of his duties as manager of the club.
The Blues parted company with the former Sunderland ace late this afternoon (Monday), just 48 hours after they were beaten 1-0 at Mickleover Sports having conceded in the 89th minute of a game that they dominated.
It is understood that assistant-manager Dave Campbell, a long-serving player, will also follow Williams out of the Turnbull Ground.
Town currently lie third from bottom of the Evo-Stik Premier Division standings, five points from safety, having won only three of their opening 21 league fixtures.
Their last victory came in the FA Trophy at Workington on October 31, with the club suffering four consecutive defeats since that success.
Williams took over as manager in October 2011 with the Blues looking doomed to relegation, yet he masterminded a spectacular final day of the season escape.
He has since guided the club to 12th, ninth and 13th-placed finishes in the Evo-Stik Premier Division.
