Whitby Town have signed highly-rated Doncaster Rovers forward Liam Mandeville on a one-month loan deal.
The 18-year-old will slot straight into the Blues’ squad for Tuesday night’s Doodson Sports Cup tie at Scarborough Athletic.
“Liam is a good player with an eye for goal,” Town manager Darren Williams told the Whitby Gazette.
“I’m really pleased that we’ve got him for a month because he’s a lad who I’ve heard a lot of positive things about.
“Some of my contacts who have seen him play regularly are surprised that he’s even on the loan list, and isn’t involved more with the first team, which I think says a lot about how good he is.
“We plan to get him involved straight away at Scarborough on Tuesday night.”
Mandeville made his maiden senior appearance for Doncaster against Bradford City in April, he featured on two further occasions in 2014/15, and has played three times for the League One club so far this season.
He came into football late and initially joined Rovers as an under-16s scholar and is desribed as being “very highly-rated” by the coaching staff at the Keepmoat Stadium.
