Whitby Town twice came from behind to earn themselves a 2-2 draw at Frickley Athletic on Bank Holiday Monday.
The game kicked-off 45 minutes late after the Seasiders’ team bus got stuck in traffic on its way to Westfield Lane, and when the action did eventually get underway, Town were clad in Athletic’s yellow change kit.
Darren Williams’ men fell behind in the 35th minute when Jacob Hazel struck for the hosts, but Lee Mason lashed home an equaliser seven minutes after half-time to claim his second goal in just his second appearance of the season following an injury lay-off.
Frickley re-took the lead through former Scarborough Athletic forward Zeph Thomas, but with just six minutes remaining Mikey Robers converted from the penalty spot to bring Whitby level once again.
