YORK LEAGUE: Flixton see off rivals Malton in runfeast
Five batsmen made half-centuries as hosts Flixton won a high-scoring contest against Malton & Old Malton, Thomas Bumby, 53, and Daniel Foxton, 52, helped the visitors to an imposing 273-8.
But seemingly undaunted by the task at hand Nick Zakrzewski, 84, and Anthony Stones, 56, laid the foundations which allowed Harry Walmsley, 58no, and Chris Mann, 33no, to take their side to a three-wicket victory despite the efforts of William Spencer, whose 4-44 stood out in a match dominated by the bat.

The hosts posted 154-9, Jordan Welford bagging three wickets for the title-chasers and then Mainprize took centre stage as the visitors cantered to victory.
Scarborough’s first team must have been contemplating extending their recent run of premier division successes at the tea interval, as former Heslerton batsman Alex Carrie smashed 124 and Mark Tennant 104no on their way to a double-century stand for the second wicket out of a total of 251-4.
But Easingwold skipper Mark Mierzwinski, 104, had other ideas as he shared partnerships of 115 and 97 with Stephen Piercy, 60, and Martin Piercy, 56, for the opening two wickets to set up victory for the visitors.
