Beckett League Div 2 & 1 - Centurion Cooke serves up win for Scalby 2nds

Cooke hammered 17 fours and a six in his 87-ball stay at the crease in his 101, Adam Waugh offering support with 32 as the hosts were all out for 209, Cam Fox and Aiden Duell taking three wickets apiece.

A fine all-round effort in the field by Scalby saw Nathan Barber lead the way with 3-32 as Mulgrave were dismissed for 142 in 42.4 overs.

A superb five-wicket haul from Ian Cousins saw Ganton recover to pull off a 48-run win at home to Wold Newton.

Ian Cousins snapped up 5-22 as the visitors were skittled for 75 in 36.1 overs, Greg Cousins also weighing in with an excellent 3-9 from 7.1 overs, number nine bat Steve Ward top-scoring with 22 not out.

Greg Cousins also shone with the bat, his unbeaten 40 proving vital as Ganton were all out for 123 in 41.3 overs, Rich Bannister adding 25. Tom Southwell took 3-8 and Mark Holtby 3-41.

Wykeham 2nds held their nerve to seal a three-wicket final-over win at Ebberston 2nds.

Jacob Warters’ unbeaten 49, added to 30 from Charlie Coulson helped the hosts to 147-7, Balraj Balachandran and Josh Grover taking two wickets each.

Matthew King (3-34) put Ebberston in with a chance but fine batting from opener Adam Eustace (58) and tail-ender Scott Wardman (24no) saw them secure the win from the first ball of the final over.

George Hodgson’s 5-38 helped Snainton secure a six-wicket win at Seamer & Irton 2nds.

Skipper Joe Tiffany hit 34 and Laurence James 29 as Seamer grafted for 150 all out from 45 overs.

Steve Eyre took 3-25 and Rob Holt 2-27 to offer valuable support to Hodgson.

Michael Kipling’s fine form continued with an unbeaten 51 from 118 balls to steer Snainton home, Matthew Davies chipping in with 32.

Fylingdales eased to a 107-run win at home to Grosmont.

Dylan Humble (58) and Robert Tucker (42) shared an opening stand of 98 for Dales, Robbie Hurworth adding 34 not out as they were all out for 230 all out.

Arron Liddle and Anthony Clarkson bagged three wickets each for the visitors.

Mark Estill’s 4-10 then saw Grosmont slip to 123 all out, Charlie Parker (38) and Clarkson (21no) the only batsmen to get going.

Sewerby’s batsmen shone in their eight-wicket triumph at home to Wykeham in Division One.

Opener Dan Artley struck an impressive 74 and Mike Artley 50 not out as the hosts made a winning 199-2.

Wykeham had almost made an excellent start to their innings, with openers Ezra Pashby (61) and Mike Dugdale (36) putting on 76 and James Bryant’s 30 helping them to 159-2 at one stage.

But 3-31 from Alex Shipley and Calvin Roche’s 2-39 pegged the visitors back to 196-7.

Folkton & Flixton 2nds rattled off a rapid nine-wicket win at 10-man Settrington.

Lee Elvidge took 3-19, with two wickets apiece from Jamie Nesfield, Chris Mann and Charlie Colley skittling the hosts for 44, and Josh Till’s 38 not out wrapped up the win in 6.5 overs.

Jamie Thompson’s 4-14 helped Sherburn to a five-wicket win at Cayton 2nds.

Kyle Outhart and Kev Lickes also took two wickets apiece as Cayton made 113-9, David Walker top-scoring with 53 from 113 balls.

Jake Seastron’s 3-14 kept Cayton in the game but skipper Phil Pickard (21no), Jack Pickard (24) and Outhart (22) all featured as Sherburn sealed the win.

Sean Pinder’s 78 could not save Forge Valley from a five-wicket loss at Thornton Dale.

Pinder and Andy Toal (30) helped Valley to 199 all out in 44.4 overs, Col Lockwood and Gareth Hunt bagging three wickets each.

Matthew Clark’s 74 was the driving force behind Dale’s win, with excellent support from Tim Hunt (54no) and Lewis White (31).

Rain stopped play at Great Habton with visitors Heslerton 78-4 from 22 overs chasing Habton’s 168-7.

Middle-order batsmen Liam Allanby (32) and Rob Featherstone (25) lifted Habton, Marc Dring taking 3-51.

Heslerton’s Tom Benthall had departed for 35 to leave the game in the balance when rain stopped play.
