Whitby CC 1sts claimed a winning draw from their Bank Holiday Monday clash with Richmondshire.
It was a case of the same old story for James Hall’s men as they posted a decent total before falling just short of bowling their North Yorkshire/South Durham opponents out.
Whitby made a total of 204-9, Australian import Jono Chapman top-scoring with 51, while Arron Leeman (45) and Will Donald (40) also impressed with the bat.
In reply, Richmondshire limped to 155-7 from their 50 overs, Chapman again leading the way for his side, snapping up three wickets.
The 14 points that they earned themselves from this performance leaves the men from the Turnbull Ground in fouth place in the league standings.
A day earlier, Whitby 3rds claimed a maximum-points success over Redcar 3rds in North Yorkshire/South Durham Sunday Division Two.
James Fawcett (114 not out) and Liam Calvert (50) shared a stunning first-wicket partnership of 105 to set their team on the way to a total of 232-5.
Redcar were never really in the hunt and were dismissed for 115 in 40.2 overs.
Mark McCarthy took 3-29, while Will Richardson (2-11) and Lewis Brearley (2-20) also fared well with the ball in hand.
