Here's everything you need to know about it, including where it was filmed:

What is The Nest about?

The Nest centres around a well-off couple living in Glasgow and their struggles to conceive.

Dan and Emily have it all. A huge house, plenty of money, and each other. But they’ve been trying for a baby for years with no success.

A chance encounter with an 18-year-old girl sees them embarking on a surrogacy journey, using the last embryo they have, in exchange for setting her life up for good.

Questions are quickly raised as to whether they can trust a young woman they barely know with their final chance to have a family – or whether she will run.

Where was it filmed?

Being set in inner-city Glasgow (and beyond) there are a number of filming locations that will be familiar to more than a few Scots.

The house Dan and Emily live in is Cape Cove, an award-winning five-star holiday that is actually available to book as a holiday home if you feel like visiting the set.

It comes complete with a hot tub, views out over the loch and of wildlife, roaring log fires, and glass walls; it has five bedrooms and sleeps 10 guests.

From the windows of Dan and Emily's house you can spot Loch Long, a body of water in Argyll and Bute roughly 20 miles long and one-to-two miles wide which runs through a stunning area of natural Scottish beauty.

Of course, a lot the show was set on location in Glasgow itself.

Everything from the city's urban high rise tower blocks to the botanical gardens at Kibble Palace make an appearance at some point.

Martin Compston and Scottish thespian David Hayman were snapped filming in the city centre last year.

A number of scenes were also shot in the Chaophraya restaurant, in Glasgow's city centre.

Who stars in it?

Dan and Emily are played by Martin Compston, most famous for his role as Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott in police corruption thriller Line of Duty, and Sophie Rundle, who plays Ada Shelby in Birmingham gang drama Peaky Blinders, respectively.

They’re joined by Mirren Mack, who plays teenage surrogate Kaya; Netflix fans might recognise her as Florence from teen dramedy Sex Education.

Other members of the cast include James Harkness, Liz Ewing, Samuel Small and Christine Bottomley.

The series was written by Nicole Taylor and directed by Andy De Emmony.
