Wrong end of the stick

I have just been reading Keith Dixon’s comments regarding the accident at the end of Love Lane, in your letters column today.

Mr Dixon seems to have the wrong end of Love Lane when he talks about someone being killed. The person who died, as you will know, did so from natural causes, and while driving his car, but at the Love Lane/Upgang Lane junction, not where Lidl and Spar are situated.

The incident with the police van, which crashed into Lidl’s wall, and involving another car, did not involve anyone dying or being killed.

I agree that this particular junction is not of the best design but Mr Dixon’s comments are inaccurate - he obviously didn’t witness the scene of the accident, or the result of the accident himself - he has totally misread reports and made incorrect assumptions.
