Why do we always go for the vastly expensive, view ruining, bird killing, wind farms to generate electricity?
Why not use the thousands of old water mills in the country?
We are told we are a bit short of water, but the rivers never dry up do they?
I am told we have 17 old dams on the Esk, but I have only heard of the Ruswarp project for setting up a generator.
We could even build old fashioned water wheels to drive the generators, it would make work for lots of local firms.
After all, we do get some cold freezing nights in winter with no wind!
