Whitby should set a precedent

I agree with the proposed by-law for people who feed sea-gulls.

This is not only a Whitby problem, but universal in the UK.

There will always be a problem with tourists thinking it is fun to feed sea-gulls, ignorant of the fact that this is very bad for them, and it encourages bad gull behaviour.

So Whitby should set a precedent and lead here: be proud to be a town that is taking it’s welfare very seriously, by outlawing this bad behaviour.

We all want less intrusion by gulls who right now, are starting to make a dreadful mess. My wife is now washing sea-gull dirt from our car, badly dirtied in only three days.
