Whitby needs to ‘get its act together’

I would like to put my views over concerning motor homes parking up for the folk week.

Personally, I think they should be given areas where they can park, they have come to bring happiness into the town, they attract a lot of visitors, and this brings money into the town.

Whitby could not cope without such events.

It’s so off putting here, everything is money and is so expensive.

The other day I and my husband were watching the lovely dancing by the bandstand and most of the people were having to stand. There is not enough seats there to make visitors feel welcome to enjoy themselves.

At one time there used to be fold up chairs provided, in fact even some of the benches have disappeared.

The other thing while I am at it, is the state of the free toilets. They are dirty with no soap or hand towels.

I have lived here 17 years and I have never seen a lump of soap in them. This is a health hazard.

I think it is far too expensive to have to pay 40p to use the so-called loo.

A family of three would spend at least £3.60 for a day in Whitby. This is far from welcoming so I think Whitby needs to get its act together if they want to keep on attracting visitors to come.
