Planning integrity?

As a regular visitor to the North York Moors National Park (several months per year) and also an engineering geologist, working in the UK offshore renewables sector, it was of interest to me to read the Whitby Gazette of 29 April.

On page seven I note that a farm shop at Danby has been refused planning permission and on page eight I further note that “a planning expert from the North York Moors National Park has joined the board of Sirius Minerals”.

Can we expect that the same diligence and integrity that was applied to the refusal of the Danby farm shop development be also applied any application Sirius Minerals may make to the planning authority?
