Opticians eyes pounds for pups

I would like to place on record a heart-felt thank you from all the team at Whitby Specsavers to all our customers who supported our recent charity mission to raise money for guide dogs.

For every customer who opted to have an eye examination with us on Monday 8 August, Specsavers donated £1 towards The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

Customers to our store raised a very worthwhile £11.

Our staff are always really enthusiastic about working with Guide Dogs and were staggered to learn that a guide dog costs £50,000 over their lifetime.

The support the charity offers is incredible and we’re always in awe of guide dogs and we can only imagine all the hard work that goes into training them.

International Assistance Dogs Week was created to recognise all of the devoted hard working assistance dogs, like guide dogs, who transform the lives of their partners, and the money raised will support the charity’s work which helps people with sight loss enjoy the same freedom of movement as everybody else.
