Musicport Festival support needed

You reported some weeks ago on Musicport Festival returning to Whitby in October and since then we’ve received lots of comments saying how pleased people are it’s coming back.

We’re hoping that people will really take the festival to their hearts again and help make it a success, particularly as we’re doing it without Arts Council Funding this year.

But we don’t want the festival to be something that just happens at the Pavilion – we’d like it to spread through the town, touching more and more people.

There are lots of ways that individuals and businesses can get involved and become an official festival supporter – it may be that you can offer a room for the weekend of 5-7 October, to host a volunteer or an artist coming to the festival – a great way to be part of what goes on.

Can you help provide food or drink for the performers, or with travel to and from stations or hotels, maybe support a particular act, or help in some other way?

We’re also interested to hear your ideas about how we can spread the word about this unique and wonderful festival – we’ll offer two tickets to whoever comes up with the best idea!

If you’d like to find out more, or you have some other ideas, please call in at the Musicport shop on Skinner Street, email or ring 603475.
