Letter: Hinderwell Players give wonderful performance at pantomime

I would like to thank the Hinderwell Players on their wonderful pantomime last weekend, February 19-20, with a matinee squeezed in on the Saturday afternoon for the children, ‘Oh yes they did!’

Once again the star of the show was Caroline Lilley as the queen, surprisingly, as in real life she is such a modest women, but this year she was pushed close by Tia Taylor, Bashful, in the seven dwarfs. Bashful? Not this little mite, she marshalled the seven dwarfs with great aplomb and confidence.

Full marks to Ste Savage and Paul Wilson in their cameo roles as the German pigs, and Gerty and Gladys, also known as Mark Yeoman and Jono Hutchinson in real life, as the ugly sisters played to perfection with total realism.

The pantomime was based loosely on Snow White.

I thoroughly enjoyed both nights and think the players, stagehands, all of whom come from the Hinderwell environs, and of course the audience, did as well. All proceeds going to local charities, and the bar profits to the football club.

I hope next year, whatever the pantomime is, it can be extended to a longer run - three nights?

And hope it will get to be as successful as Hinderwell Scarecrow Week.
