Check your meters

I have two holiday cottages, plus my own house (all together) and this week over several days have had my quarterly bills for gas and electric, in which it is stated that the meters have been read.

However, on checking the meters myself - all of them are wrong.

Two of which would have paid for electricity for three years!

One gas meter was not read as nasturtiums had grown over it and completely hidden - I had to remove some to get to it.

This has resulted in many phone calls to Sainsbury’s Energy to get them put right.

So - check your meters. I know the meter reader collects the readings for all energy suppliers in an area and records them on a computer.

Either the computer has a fault or the meter reader requires glasses and needs to go to Spec Savers.
