As I brace myself for what will be my fourth New Year’s Day dip, I am struck by some other interesting statistics, as a challenging year comes to an end for Saint Catherine’s Hospice. This year your support has been even more important to us and helped us care for more than 1,500 patients and their families, across the 1,600 square miles that Saint Catherine’s covers. We have had 33 parachute jumpers, 742 midnight walkers, 195 ladies lunching, 350 people at our Beach Ball, 270 taking part in the Santa Dash and most recently of all, 1,500 lighting up a life to remember a loved one, many of whom turned out to see our trees blessed and lit. The dedication and commitment of all our supporters was brought home to me clearly recently, when we rewarded our volunteers and support group members, some of whom had done no fewer than 25 years’ service. Groups, individuals, businesses, you have all done Saint Catherine’s Hospice proud this year by continuing to support us, despite the difficult economic climate. As we head into 2012 we say a heart-felt thank you on behalf of our patients and their families for the wonderful contribution you make to help your hospice.
From everyone at Saint Catherine’s Hospice, a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.
