A lively hour of carols

Sleights singers, ladies, gentlemen guests and pianist Mike Lester presented their eighth ‘Carols for Diners’ at the Victoria Farm Garden Centre in December.

There was a large audience and a good turnout of Sleights Singers and their guests - with promise of a lively hour of audience participation and items from the singers.

And it was so - an ‘audience’ of over 150 carollers and 18 choristers, roistering through nine traditional carols and four Christmas ‘pops’ (all with the right words written and sung in the right order of course) interspersed with items from the ladies and the gentlemen separately and together.

The proceeds from these seasonal affairs of the afternoon amounted to a very generous £206.18 which has already been sent to Marie Curie Cancer Care, Whitby Group.

To date the carolling diners have raised £1,547, a highly commendable effort indeed.

Thank you and thank you to Jean, Bill, Mark and Paul Noble of Victoria Farm. Thank you too for the liberal supply of mulled wine and mince pies to everybody.
