Whitby & The Moors Prevention Centre put on a fun day which took place at the Children’s Centre on Byland Road.

The Prevention Centre organises fun things for families to do together that don’t cost much. The fun day attracted around 150 people and included arts and crafts, a didgeridoo player who taught people how to play, outdoor games and the main feature wasthe animals from Morley Exotic Animal Rescue Trust, which rescues animals that are unable to be re-homed.

Children’s Centre manager Diane Leith said the animals were used to encourage the parents to interact with their children and that the meerkats were the children’s favourite animal, followed by the snake.
