LADIES from the Glaisdale Quilters Group have brightened up the St Catherine’s Hospice day care facility in Whitby with a donation of hand made quilts.

They held a coffee morning and local exhibition of their works at St Thomas’ Church Rooms in Glaisdale.

Visitors were able to see all the quilts on display and talk to the group and find out what is involved in the craft.

There were also home made cakes and coffee.

Ann Wyatt, a Trustee at Saint Catherine’s Hospice, was delighted to attend the exhibition and meet the ladies involved and to be presented with an selection of bright and cheerful quilts from Hanneke Wood, the chairman of the group.

She said the quilts would make a delightful addition to the bungalow on Mulgrave Crescent that houses the day care facility and give patients a cheerful reminder of the ladies’ hard work and be something to keep them warm.
