Residents in Sandsend Valley have been reassured that plans are being formulated to replace bridges that were washed away during heavy flooding in September.
Two footbridges were washed away during the period of heavy rainfall that struck the area and caused a torrent of water to flood down Sandsend Beck.
Since then a temporary bridge was placed across the stream at the point where one of the bridges stood. However another crossing, close to St Mary’s Church, remains impassable.
A spokesperson for the Mulgrave Estate said that contractors have been sourced and work to replace the bridges is set to begin in the near future.
