Woman's death on A64: Police reopen roads and launch investigation

The Scarborough roads shut this morning while police investigated a woman's death have now re-opened.

Police were called to the A64 junction with Cayton Low Road, near the Musham Bank roundabout, by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service at 12.18am today where a woman had died on a road.

An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding her death.

A 29-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He is being questioned in custody.

Police are urging anyone who was travelling along this road at around midnight and possibly may have information or dash-cam footage that could assist the investigation, is urged to call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option one, and speak to the force control room, quoting reference number 12200149402.
