Woman suffers leg injury after slipping on steep path to beauty spot near Goathland

Rescue teams worked together to help a woman hurt at Thomason Foss at Beck Hole, near Whitby, yesterday.

The teams from Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue, Goathland Fire Station and Yorkshire Ambulance Service were called to the beauty spot at 1.47pm where a woman had suffered a leg injury on the steep path leading to the waterfall.

She was given pain relief and her injured leg was splintered before she was carried on a stretcher down a path and across a stream.

Rescuers then hauled the stretcher up a bank using a rope before carrying her to a waiting ambulance.
