Witches and wizards will be taking over Whitby’s historic Church Street on Saturday night as they make their way to Whitby Bookshop for a much-anticipated new book.
The bookshop will be opening its doors at 11pm ahead of the midnight sale of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts I and II, the eighth book in the universally popular JK Rowling series.
There will be a prize for the best-dressed wizard or witch and some ghastly potions and vile sweets to chew over.
The new book will be offered at a special promotional rate of £15 to those who attend on the evening.
In this latest tale, Harry Potter is now an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted.
As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes darkness comes from unexpected places.
Whitby Bookshop has teamed up with the Whitby Gazette to offer one lucky reader the chance to win a free copy of the new Harry Potter playscript, worth £20.
Just answer the question:
What is the name of Harry Potter’s youngest son?
Email your entries to: firstname.lastname@example.org by midnight next Thursday (August 4).
