One of Whitby’s most popular and glamorous fund-raising events, the White Lily Ball, is looking forward to its biggest year ever.
For the past two years, the ball has taken place at Dunsley Hall Hotel, but the business has gone into administration .
So we can now reveal that this year’s White Lily Ball is to be held at The Stables on the outskirts of Whitby on June 6 – and organiser Lucy Bowes is hoping it will be the best one yet.
“Moving the ball to the Stables is a really exciting prospect and we cannot wait to get cracked on with it – and it will work in the charity’s favour,” she said.
“But I would also like to say that the Ward family at Dunsley have been nothing but amazing with our fund-raising events.”
The switch means there will be more tickets available for people to buy and it is expected these will go on sale around the middle of March.
Tickets will cost £40 each and will include around the world-themed cuisine and music from four-piece rock and pop band Northern Monkeys.
The White Lily ball raises funds for three local hospices – St Catherine’s, Zoe’s Place and Butterwick.
Funds raised since the last ball currently stand at £1,600 thanks to other money-spinning ventures such as the Boxing Day dip and sponsored bike rides.
