The Whitby Gazette is launching its search for the 2015 Pub of the Year in our great competition to recognise the best alehouses in our community.
We are asking readers to nominate the great pubs in Whitby town and also in the surrounding villages.
The pubs will be judged on the quality and range of ales, the atmosphere and decor, service and clientele.
Readers can nominate their favourite pub by commenting on this story or you can post on to the Whitby Gazette Facebook page.
Tweet us @gazetteinwhitby or by complete the entry coupon in this Friday’s Gazette (July 10) and post it to The Whitby Gazette, Unit F4, St Hilda’s Business Centre, The Ropery, YO22 4ET.
Once the nominations have been counted, a judging panel will make an unannounced visit to the town and rural finalists.
Editor Ed Asquith said: “Our Gazette top pub competitions this past two years have been a great success.
“We hope that even more pubs are nominated this year.
“Join in the serious fun by nominating today.”
You need to tell us your favourite pubs by Friday July 31.
Last year’s town centre winner was the Black Horse on Church Street, while the rural winner was the Black Bull at Ugthorpe.
